armrest solution...

armrest solution...

i am suprised that with the advances and popularity of interior dyes, no one has tried to take the two said armrests and fused them together and covered it up with paint/dye....

I would be DEATHLY afraid to sit in that car in the heat of summer with linen pants or the like on due the fact that you are using a brush on "dye". To much risk for my blood. Looks good though.

Are you worried abou the Dye or your skin burning off?

On a side note, I was at an auto show and there was an navigator with white leather. The seat were turning blue from people sliding out of it with blue jeans on. That sux.

Sorry, pants and leather seat made me think of that.

I rather like the two-tone interior. The Focus oval in the steering wheel is a nice touch, too. Is it just me, or are you sporting chrome trim rings on the gauges? You went back to dark faces, I take it?

Nice rig.

Yup, got tired of the white faced indiglos(they were mismatched too...gauges had black text, hvac/headlight had blue) so I went with modified stock gauges that had the green film removed by Matt R. Brushed aluminum mondeo trim rings from germany.

fuse them together how?

isnt there some way of "cold-welding" plastic...or even, if you found a good line to saw the two and "fuse" them together, you could always just jb weld them together from the backside and sand/paint the outside to hide the line....just a random thought....however, i had a 96 tour at one time, then went for the svt and comparing the two consoles in my head i am not really sure now, where you would cut the two to get the best of both worlds...

ahh you mean hack up the center consoles and fuse them together. I though you meant somehow fuse together the seat mounted armrest and the console mounted armrest. I was really confused. I've been thinking about doing what you just described with a late model cougar console and pre98 console so I can get the embedded non flip cup holder next to the e-brake.
