Yesterday my turn signals and hazard lights both quit working. I've checked all the fuses and everything is good. Do they both run off the same flasher?

This happened to me and it was a fuse. My book didn't say "turn signals" for any of the fuses they were tied into something like the brake lights or reverse lights fuse

yes they both run off the same flasher. the flasher is in the steering column, attached to the switch.

Before the feeling of dread sets in, its not hard at all to get to. all you need is a phillips head screwdriver. behind the steering wheel under the column, there are three screws, IIRC it is two in the front (steering wheel side) one on the back center (dashboard side) unscrew these three screws. after you unscrew, you should be able to pull the plastic column cover down. on the left (drivers door side) there is a black cube, looks like a relay, there's your flasher. gently pull up on the retainer clip, and gently wiggle the relay side to side and it should pop out.

I replaced mine (for LED signals) with an electronic flasher I bought at autozone, take your relay with to find the right part, it should be a 3-pin flasher with the | _ | pin layout. the tridon electronic flasher also has an indent in the case so that your retainer fits. put it back in the same way it came out, hit your hazard light switch make sure it flashes, put the key in and turn it and check your turn signals, if it works great! Put your plastic cover back on, make sure the lip on the rubber boots of your turn signal/wiper stalks are aligned so that the lip is in the groove behind the plastic cover, make sure the rubber grommet around the ignition barrel is in the right place as well (took me 3 TIMES to get that right) screw it all back in, and you are good!
