This. Pretty idiot proof, it just connects the two factory plugs going into the amp so you don't have to cut anything. However when I turned on my stereo only the front right speaker worked. I've heard of this happening with bypasses before and I really don't want to discover that this also happens if I bypass the amp in the traditional way cutting/splicing the harness. All my speakers do work with the factory amp connected except the driver's speaker is very low which I've searched and found is another known issue. Not sure why the wiring is so complicated with these cars...

Kenwood MP628, came with the car. Connected with the appropriate harness. I just remembered, when I pulled it out to inspect it the blue/white wire was not hooked up and that says "sys amp" on the wire so I'm guessing that might have somethign to do with it? I'm going to pull the radio back out and hook it up. I know this is quite noob but I am not very good with wires. Actually I hate wiring, too tedious and you can't fix it with a hammer lol.

that confuses me. so the aftermarket radio was sending the signal to the sepakers through the stock amp? I though the bypass kit should be installed and that would have taken care of the stock amp.

Nono, the PO had just spiced in the harness like everyone does and just plugged in and done with the stock amp still connected. I tried using this harness to try and bypass the amp by just connecting the two plugs together which is what it is supposed to do. Didn't work... I'm going to try the traditional bypass in the next few days and see what happens.

Figured out wth was wrong with that harness. The asshats at Schosche had the smaller plug wired completely wrong. I checked the pics on here to make sure they didn't dick up the bigger plug that I actually need to do the traditional bypass but it was at least correct. I am putting the better headunit from my Cobra into the Contour so since I already had it out I did all the wiring/splicing it'll be a simple matter to just plug the new headunit in, run the bypass behind the dash, plug that in and voila.

I COULD have repinned it or switched the wires all around to make it correct but the damn pins pulled out of the smaller plug when I was stripping the wires and would not go back in securely. Really annoyed at the quality of Scosche right now...
