transmission range sensor adjustment?

Looks like I should have been modre concise in my original posting. It is because I plan on changing the range sensor and the instructions (at Autozone) specify a special magic tool from Ford to align the new swith after changing it, but some posts in here say it's not needed just to do some kind of lining up and all should be good. Is that really all that is needed?

Yes. The pictures in the linked thread show where and how to line up the transmission range sensor. That is the easiest part of the entire procedure.

Holly @#% you were not kidding about lining up the sensor being the easiest thing. Looks like Ford tried hard to hide the sensor under all those hoses. 3 friggin hours, including a ride to the part store to buy new hose clamps instead of putting back those spring loaded contraptions from hell. Now let's hope that this cures my gear problems once the car gets warm. At least the car started right up after (in neutral and park) and the backup lights work
