Hi guys today was a day from hell and I thought it was terminal.

The short end of it was terrible banging from the engine while driving to work this morning.
It sounded like a tin can and marbles rattling around in the engine.
It was so loud I was embarrassed to be in it. I was about to pull into a parking lot when everything shut down and trying to restart it was not the sounds that are ear pleasing. I couldn't get it to turn over and it sounded like the engine had siezed.
I feared the end was near.

When I opened up the engine bay I saw part one of my problem. It seems I had some stowaways for awhile.
Yup two deer mice and a nest on the tranny under the air filter. They were well done!!!!

So far the report as of 4pm MST is the engine turns by hand, one very seized alternator (6 years old) and one starter (original) blown up by the alternator. Tomorrow once those 2 items are delt with, then start it up (hopefully), we can then look into what the mice did and see if the rattling is gone.........
Oh I can't wait! :(

Hope you're all well and no one was near the slab of marble that fell in the core.

Ouch! Hope those little hitchhikers didn't eat all your wiring!

What a joke that falling marble was. You'd think from the news some terrorists had dropped a bomb on Toronto. :nonono:

Well...the slab of marble has created headaches around my building because of all the detours. Plus, PATH is really crowded now. I'm kinda glad it dropped onto the concourse area instead of the sidewalks or road.

Still, hoping for the best for a least painful experience.

Thanks guys, just got the phone call that the Tour is alive and running. :)

2 mechanics spent the last 10 hours on it and it seems there's no problems from the stowaways.
Atleast not that they told me yet.

One of them did say on the phone that he never want's to see a Ford ever again.
He was the one that spent the whole day today doing the alternator. :D

I get to pick it up in the morning, so I'll see and hear it for myself then.

Yah the news has a tendency of making a small issue seem like a HUGE earth shattering problem.
Just glad no one was hurt.
