Torsen diff problem

My car doesn't have a clip holding the passenger side CV in - I've never had any issues with it falling out... I beat the living piss out of my car as well..

Wanna bet? Yes your passenger side half shaft (or CV as you call it) has a clip, the jackshaft however does not. The bracket with two 13mm nuts holds it in position.

Just to clarify: The intermediate shaft where it goes into the tranny does not have a clip, but there is a clip where the passenger side half shaft connects to the intermediate shaft?

correct. the passenger side clip will not be a problem anyways. just make sure you can't pull the passenger CV out of the intermediate shaft. the intermediate shaft is held in by the bearing, which is mounted to the block. so it can't go anywhere. no clip needed going into the trans.

i just replaced my drivers side CV last summer. the clip that came with it slid right in and clipped like it should. however, i'll use ford ones from now on since reading this thread :D

How did you get your damn drivers side axle out? We tried on my car, but just ended up taking apart the cv and leaving the short piece in there... guess what - after doing that 4 or 5 times now I have to replace that cv...

My intermediate shaft bearing was shot - so it walked out of the transmission when the new, much tighter, cv pulled on it while cornering. The snap ring on the intermediate shaft is not on the transmission side, it is on the bearing side. There is NOTHING holding the intermediate shaft in besides the bearing where it bolts to the block - the snap ring at the end just connects the intermediate and the outer cv together.
