Depends on what you are doing with the car. On my Mystique there are three different values to go by. One is for towing and one is for normal everyday use and I forget what the third one is for.
FWIW, I try to keep 34 in all tires and still my front tires look like they are half flat.
 
No. If you post the tire size we may even tell you the best psi to use. I have 17's and like to run them kinda hard at 40psi. Anything over 31 or 32 will do for best ride on oe style tires. Just remember...... 1-5 psi loss every month so check them on the regular.
 
I run my fronts @ 40 psi and the rear @ 36 psi. I did a few different pressures and figured out which one will give me the most mpg. If I let it go down to 35 in the front I would actually get 3 to 4 mpg less. :shocked:
 
The sticker says different things for different wheel/tire options. My zetec says 32/32 IDK what the svt says.
Just run whatever works best for you. It differs for different tires and driving styles. I run 35-37ish on my zetec. It has crappy tires and I drive the heck outta my cars, so it needs the highish pressure (35 is the max psi for most the tires on it, yeah i got 3 different brands on it). I have 17"s on the svt. Run about 35 normally but go up higher if I plan on doing some fun driving. Usually run a little less in the rear on it.
Just watch how the tires wear and how it feels to you and works for your driving style.

I seriously doubt the tire is getting as good of a contact patch as possible running 46psi. And it's probably wearing the center of the tire out sooner than the rest of the tire. I'm not sure why driving on bad roads would make you want to run a higher pressure, except wanting to make a rough ride even rougher.
 
Probably somewhere around 35 but like I said it depends on your driving style (taking corners very fast requires more pressure so the tires don't roll over) and the specific tire. Try 37 front 35 rear and just see how it feels. If you take corners fast, see if they roll over (you see on the shoulder of the tire/sidewall if they've gotten worn). And watch to make sure the tire wears evenly across the all of the tread. Center wearing quickers means needs less pressure, edges getting worn faster than center means needs more pressure. Any other kinda wear means go get an alignment.
2 psi is a good increment to use when making changes... assuming you're not starting way off from the pressure you should be at.
