If the car is on a lift, they can drop the drivers side of the subframe and easily pull the tranny out. I wouldn't imagine it would cost *that* much... but then again, they usually go by the books, which have more novice-like billable hours.

Doesn't even need a lift. Livin and I can drop a trans through the subframe in under 2 hours if no subframe bolts strip out, rear nuts spinning is not problem.

Tricker and I have done it in the same amount of time, if not less. It is the easiest way to go..

aircougar and I last weekend got his mtx out in 1.5 hours .... but then again it was the 4th time it came out so eveything came apart easy :help:

he also got a zetec atx out in about 6 hours ... including spinning rear subframe bolts and other bolts that where hard to come out.

Yuo fuggers are fast. No way I could do it that quick and you know I've done my share. I guess I just work slow. Don't like breaking things.

with the help of a guy at class one year ago i pulled my engine and trans out the top (first time pulling an engine) in 4 hours. that includes at least an hour of cursing at things while doing nothing
