After 3 days of working on the car I finally got the gutted manifolds installed and optimized a y-pipe. The first day i spent almost entirely fighting the EGR tube and ended up just pulling the rear manifold with it still attached (which is a real PITA). after i got it off i managed to get the EGR tube off only to discover that all the threads on the nut going to the manifold were stripped and it wouldnt go onto the "new" gutted manifold. I ended up just welding the hole on manifold closed and used the EGR valve (temporarily until i can get a real block off plate) to seal off the intake manifold. spent most of the second day actually optimizing the y-pipe (unless you really want to take it on i highly recommend having a shop do it). I also installed a wideband in the y-pipe at the same time.
In the end though all i really have to say is WHY THE HELL DID I WAIT SO LONG!!!

the low end torque is deffinitely improved and the high RPM pull is better as well. probably should get a tune eventually to turn off the EGR (instead of just living with the CEL) and lean it out a bit at WOT since it runs around 11.5:1  the sound is also improved as well
Yes Roger, it does have a little rasp but only for a short time at about 3.5K. If i can get a resonator installed before the Dragon i will but no gaurantees.
