The End May be Near...

It lives it lives!!!!

Why I don't know, but a little oil in the cyclinder, and the ground strap on the other corner of the coil pack and it farted then kicked right off. I filled the whole 3 bay garage with smoke from the exhaust. :nonono:

Oil in three cyclinders, plus carb cleaner fumes, and all the gas!

It still needs a maiden voyage, but it drove out of the garage till it stopped smoking.

Awsome man, good work. So it lives on.

Its been driving about tonight. I'm gonna take her into work tomorrow!

Seems to be no leaks or quirks...except that my door speakers now seem to be cutting in and out. :nonono: I still haven't gotten to change the oil or the anti freeze!

Hopefully tomorrow night the oil and the radio shall be dealt with!

Good to hear, Scott. When you cranked it, and it didn't fire, it will sometimes wash the oil from the cylinders resulting in no compression. Happened to me a few times. Good luck with the rest.

Yep, I told him that it lost compression and to put some oil in the cylinders.
:D

How's the car driving now?

You need a 5 sp.

Call me back ya knucklehead. :D

Serpinetine belt is not on yet.

BUT I did find what makes that evil stain on the side of the block!!!

I have seen this on my contours, and I bet there are alot of people floating around here with the same problem. The accessory drive side of the block gets a stain down the side from under the steering pump. I had heard before it was from the steering pump and with age the seals go bad!

Guess again friends! The PVC vale travels down to the middle of the block, where the tube connects to a "bonnet" that caps the block. MY CAP WAS NOT TIGHTENED DOWN AT ALL! :nonono: I saw the oil around it and new it was the PVC valve, so I was like hmm wth? And it moved fairly easily. Not alot of movement, but 1/8" to each side. So I grab a the 8mm socket and the bolts come right out. :nonono:

Needless to say, I will be making a post about this in the Duratec forum later on. but right now I need to start getting everything back together.

Wow... good find!!! I think I have this problem and that where my vacuum leak is. Got a stain on the side and the tube felt loose when I cleaned PCV valve.
Thanks! I love CEG!!!

Automatic transmission cooler is on!

After 9 1/2 hours. :nonono: So much for a 2-3 hours job.

If anyone wants to go for this, its not hard now that I know what to do exactly.

Sorry about missing out on party day at Luca's house. I really thought this would take me a few hours, and it turned out to be a complete PITA, and I was shooting to have it done, and then go over. Missed the deadline by a mile!

You missed a good time but at least you got the trans cooler on.
Doug busted it big time, did three cars yesterday and my Exploder and SVT this morning.
His car sounds great with the headers.

The car is back on the road and I believe I've knocked out everything on the list except putting on the new serpentine belt. :blackeye:

But the Dayco belts are on sale at advanced, so I want to find the receipt and take back the cheaper one that the guy sold me in the first place. I didn't realize he sold me the cheap ass one until a few days ago when I thought about putting it on!
