The big blow in Portland area

Lost power twice in Beaverton, 7 hours out the night of the storm and another 5 hours out last night.

Did you see the pics of the PGE Sub station burning? Those fires are really hot. That mineral oil in the transformers burns well once it gets going.

Did you have any trees come down?

My son (not the Marine) lives over in Vancouver, and has been working on the rescue of those three climbers on Mt Hood. That is until Thurs night when his neighbors'(who's a Clackamas County Sheriff) 90' fir tree blew over and landed on his 03 Dodge Ram. We were impressed with how that took the impact. It hit from the rear across the tailgate and down the middle of the cab. If you had been in the cab at the time you would have been ok..... you might have had to change your skivvies but at least you would have been able to do that

I was in the office in SE Portland until 7 pm the night of the storm. When I came out to my car, a cop was chainsawing the tree that came down directly in front of my Contour. Branches on the hood but no heavy limbs.

So that Ram p'up has a sway back tailgate to match a crease down the top of the cab? That might make it better for hauling home a huge Christmas Tree???

One might say the Christmas tree was delivered...... since the truck was in his driveway at the time.

It bent the tops of the doors all (quad cab)outward a bit and busted the glass. There wasn't a panel that didn't have some sort of a dent in it. The tree was completely supported by the truck. you could push on the top and the bottom would come off the ground. His house just had a small hole in the roof where as the tree came down it did a slap shot bounce. Fortunately it was in the soffit area..... IT could have been much worse..... but I think the truck is totaled....

We got off pretty easy up here. We didn't get hit like everyone else. On the other hand we did get alot more snow a few weeks ago.
