Text messaging.

i had to scold jsmith last month for sending me about 6 pic messages in a row of the chainsaw he blew up.
haha

my brother in law is famous for just sending random texts and instead of just sending one with everything he wants to say, he will send 5, then when i don't respond he will send more asking if i got the last ones.

LOL

I'll use text if it's faster to get a quick message out - meeting place, shopping list, etc. Something that can be summed up in one sentence. Otherwise, it's overkill.

ElKy my phone is currently sending you the most epic pix message ever :)

how did you get that pic of me?
haha

oh yea..i am going to kick you so hard in the sack for sending me a text that you will be able to taste your own baby batter!

HAHAHA! But you have to admit, that was a PERFECT text. You need to permanently save that on your phone ROFL :laugh::laugh:

I do my fair amount of texting. How do you guys prefer to enter the text, do you do the abbreviation method such as "wher r u" or the 97773377733 277733 99966688 or do you use the T9 method?

i dunno, i text a lot. in the past i didn't, but a majority of girls seem to prefer it. not to mention it makes communication possible in places it owuldn't normally be. at work, in the movies, on the pooper, etc.

plus now, with most phones including mine having a full keyboard, it's more like instant messaging than anything else. i don't tihnk anyone here has a problem with sending IM's right?

it also eliminates trying to initiate a conversation at a bad time and interrupting something.

far as old style phones go, i could never use the T9. I dunno why, maybe my brain is not wired to think liek that but i always ended up with words i didn't want, or words that weren't even words. i did it the old fashioned way. i did gt quite fast at it though by using 2 hands.

ABC is far superior to T9. T9 doesn't have all the words I'm looking for. As TGO said, using two hands makes it go reeeeaaaalllyyy quick, and plus, I can text on the pooper and no one will know!

I used T9 on my WinMobile phone (two phones ago  ). Not for texting, but for email.

Incidentally, that phone had one T9 feature I used heavily and still miss: from the home screen, start typing a few numbers and it will auto-search your Contacts, bringing up in real-time any phone numbers that matched the numbers you typed OR any contacts whose names have matching characters in T9.

As an example, all of the CEGers in my phone have the phrase "CEG" somewhere in the contact name. Therefore, to call one I just pressed "234" from my home screen, and all CEGers displayed.

My last phone had a very clunky Contacts search so I didn't use it much. My new phone has search functionality, but I still don't find it quite as efficient.
