Hello all. Cars been riding bit worse, so had buddy throw it up on his lift. Turn out my front sway bar links are bad. Move to the back, and look ar the rear sway bar to find this:

How does a sway bar break like that? it does have it's share of miles (193K ), but wow.

Until payday, I can only get either the sway bar (joe rocks ;)), or the front links for the front sway bar. Which should I do first? The car will be driven minimally until both are done, and this question is more for the wife than me. I think the rear bar needs done first, but just want to make sure I'm right. Opinions?

What is the sway bar bolted to in the second picture? I don't see the endlink coming through the control arm at all.

To answer your question though, go with the rear var first.

WOW. even the front lower arm is bent (2nd photo). That arm should be replaced too. Looks like that car has been taking some serious punishment, it probably would be a good idea to go over the car checking it thoroughly. ...G.

Yeah, that arm is bent too. I will send that with the sway bar and also send you any endlinks that are good from my parts car. Same price, I gotcha covered.

Joe, you rock, pure and simple. :wave:The endlinks on the FRONT sway bar are bad, I'll be getting those today, got an Autozone gift card as belated Christmas present, so that will cover part of it.

As far as order to fix, do the front first. Many cars have no rear bar at all, you will not notice much difference. Fixing the back first with no front however, is a possibly dangerous combination. Can lead to loss of control. You want the front of car tighter than the back if must be one way or the other.

Sway bar and bushings are on the way. Bang that control arm straight while you are under there too ;).
