So which y-pipe is better the stock SVT y-pipe (non-optimized) or the WR y-pipe?

The reason why I ask is because I would like to replace my cat pipe with a test pipe from Trubendz. However I have two options.

Option#1 WR y-pipe. I need to buy the flex pipe ($61) and the test pipe with the 3 bolt flange ($110).

Option#2 SVT y-pipe. I just need to buy the test pipe ($110)

... but the stock pipe cannot be beat when modifed.
That has never been proven. Technically, the stock and WR pipes are similar (both have 2.5" collectors, both are SS (pretty sure about the OEM)). The WR collector is a good design. If you're good with welding, you could probably make the OEM similar. Which is actually better....

I do not weld and came across the revised WR y-pipe for a good price. So.. until someone actually flows/dynos the WR pipe, no one will know which is better.... but I think the WR is. :)

I thought it was dyno proven that the opt stock was good for like 5-7 hp.

Seems I read that somewhere too. Definately help out on the top end where the free flowing exhaust is most beneficial. I had the modded stock pipe on my first contour & I'm gonna do it again with my Mystique. The Contour definately felt like it had more punch than this car...

Another reason I resist the WR Y pipe is the fitment issues. Some fit stock manifolds, Most I've seen will require you to torque down the flange bolts to get a leak free seal - Not good for your exhaust manifolds, the Y, or the head studs. You're just asking for trouble if it doesn't fit properly.

Well I have the WR headers installed so I'm not worried about fitment issues. The only thing is that if I go with the WR y-pipe I have to buy the extra flex pipe to go with it along with a 3 bolt flange test pipe.

It's more like 3-4 hp on a stock contour. If nothing else is modified.
5-7 is alittle of the, "i hope i get those numbers" kinda talk.
