SVT in PA

I have a slew of bikes now... I have a 90 fzr 400 which i usually ride the most, I have 2 fzr 600's im fixing up to sell... And now im starting to get into the old two strokes, I have a 73 yamaha rd 250 and a 76 rd400... Just rebuild the rd250 and getting ready to sell it and the rd400 im building for myself which currently is a bare frame... Im done with cars... Bikes are where its at...

Jason

Interesting... Keep me in mind when you sell! I'm trying to get my hands on a learner bike.

Sorry john boy, I call first dibs on any bikes sold in pa that are of the sport bike type.

Edit:
Nuts to you allen, bigger is better. Jason, let me know what you are thinking on the 600. I'm more then intersted, year and approx price range would be perfect. Feel free to pm me ;0

Blah blah blah, you can't buy all of them!

Oh, bigger is better if you know what you're doing.

You'll find one, it just takes time and patience.
I'm sure you already thought about this but sign up on some bike forums. Also PM Sal Khan and ask him for some good bike sites and stuff.

Allen,
What do you think of a 93 katana 600? 20k miles, fresh chain, breaks, new pipes, new tires and inspected till 7/07 for 1200. I'd need to park it till spring.

I'm not sure what they're actually going for these days , but my initial thought is that it sounds like an OK deal to me . Not a lot of $$$ and should be a pretty forgiving bike to ride . Any idea about if it's been dropped/wrecked ? Body panels been repainted ? Even if it was , if it's been fixed back up in proper fashion , should be a good deal .

***EDIT*** - saw your other post - spray bombed paint = most likely dropped & beat up body panels . If it don't bother you , it's OK  .

doug, my opinion is dont get the katana... there junk bikes... well honestly they would be great to learn on but the problem i dont like with them is whatever u spend u'll never get ur money back out of them...

and the smaller the cc sometimes are better but its all ur own opinion n ridding style, i dont like to go top speed, anything over like 80-90 n i back off, but going into the corners is what i ride for... it all depends on the bike u bought... i got a 90 fzr 400, which has an aluminum frame and is said to be one of the best handling bikes in the world... seriously look it up thats y i bought one... but there rare as hell and i had to drive 8 hours to pick mine up... as for the older 70's yamaha's i have i bought them cuz they were cheap easy to work on and u can make money on them... i bought the one to be my winter project which is taking alittle longer then i thought it would but the 250 i got at carlisle bike show in july for pretty cheap... the 76 rd400 is going to be my big project... then im prolly gunna keep it for myself... im into the old vintage race look and thats what im building it too look like... i bought it just to fix up and sell... i hope to finish that one shortly and sell it to make room for somemore maybe even a dirt bike... i'd love to have a dirt bike...

if u want a good cheap starter bike i'd say go with a 88-99 fzr 600... these have a steel frame unlike the aluminum one i have... what most people do is try to find the fzr400 like i have and then drop the 600 motor into it or even the 750 n i've even seen teh 1000 motor... so ya a fzr 600 depending on year shape and miles and such u could score all day long for around 1500 bucks.... i already have found homes for the two i have been building/fixing but if i come by another one i will be picking it up so i will keep u guys in mind when i go to sell another one...

the lighter the bike the better for ur first bike.... so the less cc's the lighter the bike will be... my fzr 400 is 400lbs with full fluids... or is said to be but its gotta be around that... all i know is once i laid it down on my drive way and i had a hard time picking it back up.... nothing got messed up other then some scratches but it still sucked... so would if i would be ridding a fzr1000 or gsxr 1000 or something like that... no way i wouldve picked that up by myself... ant u ever seen them harley guys dump a bike and have to have people help them get it up.... fzr 600 is around 500lbs... i dont ride for top speeds it doesnt please me at all... i ride for the corners.. they are so f'in fun if u've never done it u have no clue... get some nice sticky tires and u'll be hooked like me...

if anyone is interested in a winter project 73 rd 250 let me know... great beginer bike which will need minor work first... but great bike to learn on...
