I've been hearing some rumors about ford merging with chevy, not to mention the end of the SVT line. I love the CSVT that i have, but it sure isnt getting less miles on it as i drive it. Its going to eventually need to be replaced by another CSVT, but theres the problem. Will there be any ContourSVTs left to buy?

Does anyone know the best place to search for newer sVTs? And will ford still sell parts for the svt if i wanted to mod it after ford merges with chevy?

I've been driving my contour since i got my license (about 5 years), and i pretty much prefer this car over others cause it's so rare and people are like, oh man whats that?!! I recall one time i was pulled over, the officer was like, man thats a nice car! even the po po like it!

any info would be sweet!!

First of all, it was NOT Ford merging with Chevy, it was an alliance between Ford Motor Company and GM. And that talk is over with. If Ford merges with anybody, it will most likely be an Asian automaker.

As far as parts for SVT's and Contours in general, there was a thread awhile back from Bill Jenkins that Ford is starting to discontinue some Contour parts. After all, its been seven years since the last Contour rolled off the assembly line in Mexico. SVT specific parts will probably be among the first to be discontinued, as demand for them would be far less than Contour parts in general.

now all you CSVT'ers get to feel the pain SVO owners have had to deal with for years now.

Next time you see an SVO, ask if you can buy the passanger outer marker. ;)

(granted, SVOs have been out of production for 20+ years)
