Stupid Winter

In my hometown, the only areas that receive a strict coating of only sand (no salt) are the neighborhoods on the outskirts that have no town water pipes and rely on wells. I'd be pretty upset if there was salt put down on my parents' street since our well is about six feet from the street.

Unfortunately the consequence of only sand is that the roads remain snowy for much longer. This was realized by the rest of the town one winter when we had a blizzard and they ran out of salt. School was canceled for three days because the rest of the streets in town looked like ours for once!

am i the only one here who LOVES driving in the snow? :shrug:

love the ebrake turns, love getting the abs going at every intersection, i love driving in and out of snow mounds, and i love flying down that crappy I-95 at 80 mph durring a blizzard (in summer tires mind you; makes EVERYTHING more interesting hah) with wipers on full blast with all the girly-men driving with the hazards on at 30 mph or pulling over so they can wait it out.

i am also used to heavy salt more so then sand because up in maine local towns are so poor they salt the roads so freaken heavily they dont have to plow the same road twice. hit the touchless carwash every week or so and dont think about it.

i think its a blast; call me crazy

I enjoy it to an extent, I just hate taking off the goodies in preperation for winter :(
 
I LOVE driving in the snow.
and no one gets pissed if you're late for work. :)
I think one of the problems is people still rush to get where they need to go, so they make mistakes.
As long as you take it slow and give it your full concentration, it can be quite enjoyable.
 
Losing control on a patch of ice covered by snow or having someone else who can't drive slide into me is not my idea of fun by any means. My paint isn't perfect but damnit I don't want someone else to put a dent in it or one of my fenders.

I got lazy last year and left my CF hood on and have had no problems with it at all. No cracks, dents, yellowing, etc. I don't let crap build up on it, tho. I hose it off whenever it needs it even if I know the weather's gonna be crappy later. But the other stuff, like the rims, Mirko, and headlights come off every winter.:nonono: God I hate snow!!

As long as I don't have a bunch of asshats around me (loosely translated, no one around me), I'm OK. It's just that I don't trust ANYONE around me when the roads are anything other than dry. Any even then, you can't depend on people to be anything other than stupid. What I hate about the snow is the dirt.:nonono:

Wow, your car is a dd, and yet it's immaculate. That's really impressive. Shesh, I'm still in awe how a car like that could be a dd. I'd probably have an ulcer if I had such a nice daily driver that I had to worry about everyday!!
