I have been trying to get my starter off to change it out with a new one. Here from what I have read is the common problem, the front bolt. For the life of me I can not get that thing out. PB Blasted it a bunch of times. She is just stuck there. And of course sh doesn't offer the most conforming room to the area. Any suggestions? I have searched and read a bunch of different idea's just looking for some fresh one's or other ways pple have had success. Thank you.

Wrench + breaker bar, cracks right loose. Go to a hardware store and find a pipe that fits over the wrench that you are using and that is short enough to fit in the engine bay, all you need is a very small and short breaker bar on the end of that wrench.

Or you can get a longer wrench that extends out long enough that you can tap it with a hammer while on the bolt in the starter.

Will i need to remove the larger coolant lines?? They seem to be just getting in the way. I work in a pipe fabrication shop so there is no problem there. That one is just so akward.

I watched bagged pull a starter last night while we were working on a 3L install last night, and I have done a couple on stock duratecs myself, the coolant lines are annoying but you dont need to pull the lines and make a mess of it to get the starter out, it just takes a low profile wrench (13 mm I think?) to fit in that small cavity where that bolt is, then you can use a hammer to tap it loose, or like I said a breaker bar of the right length to fit in there, this issue isnt that the bolt is "stuck" its that with a small wrench you cant get enough torque to budge it without jacking up your hand. Like I said, you need a small breaker bar that allows you to get those extra ft-lbs of torque back, it really doesnt even need to be that long, just something you can wrap your hand around good enough.

But like I said also, if the wrench sticks out far enough that you can fit a hammer down there and give it a couple of good whacks, that also will break free the bolt, just make sure the wrench is seated properly, and its not a 12 point wrench or you could strip the bolt.

Thanks for your help. When the rain finally stops here I am gonna give her another go. Trying to get my svt on the road has been a pain. Has a pa salvage title and in va they are being jerks about it.

She is moved o the other side of the house. Started right up when you pop the clutch.

Sorry but I can not get that last bolt out for the life of me. Is there a way to remove the water tree and gain access to the bolt with a ratchet?

Ok it's time to do the funky chicken dance. I got the starter off and a new battery cable on here which I found in the JY today. Mmmmm new imrc box and a few other odds and ends hehehehe. She started up. Had to be jumped but battery is junk.
