SS brake line problems

I got all four SS brake lines to install. Started with the rear and already ran into a problem where the SS line connects to the metal line coming from the body. Here is a pic of the SS line where it connects to the body.

Now looking at the front lines I don't see how they are going to connect at either end. This is what they look like at both ends.

I bought them used and have a feeling I am missing several parts.

There are different connections on different cars. You need to know what those came off or try to get fittings to make them work on yours :-/

Different connections between the contours and cougars? Could be because my car is an 02 coug maybe. Finding 6 fittings will probably be a PITA and not worth it at all.

I have a brand new pair of Goodridge SS male-female rear brake lines if you're interested. They had to specially make the correct male-male ones for my car, which is what it looks like you have there, and let me keep the ones they originally sent.

As for the front female-female lines, I don't know what to tell you. I've never seen or heard of that on a CDW27.

I specifically know there is a difference between pre98 and SVT. I had 98 SVT lines and had to trade with Todras for his pre98 lines.....

Look on goodrich brake line page and see if you can look at the fittings.

This is a -3AN male -to- hose end, it won't fit anything on any Ford production vehicle, you'd need an adapter to mate it with the metric inverted flare on the end of the chassis hardline.

This one looks like it may have been twisted or kinked at installation or dis-assembly, as the braid is not smooth behind the hose end, this means potential damage to the Teflon hose under the braid.

Honestly, brake hoses are serious safety business, you don't know what these hoses have been through before you got them, they could have been kinked, or had a caliper hanging off them for weeks or months, which can induce catastrophic failure in the interior Teflon tube. My suggestion: Toss these in the trash, or go get your $ back.

New stainless braided brake hoses are available from reputable vendors which will fit you car and come with everything you need for a safe, clean install.

Brake hoses and condoms are not meant to be reused.

Sweet, another waste of money trusting ceg'rs selling me parts that don't work. Thanks guys, stock lines are going back on until I get a big brake kit. Last thing I want is ghetto rigged brakes.

This isn't a CEGr issue. You can start threads with questions about these things before you buy or ask in the For Sale threads..... You are trying to put contour brake lines on a cougar anyway, who told you they would install with no issues?

Well when I read all over this site that cougars and contours brakes are identical I wouldn't expect anything different between installing brake lines on a contour or a cougar. For the couple years I have been reading things on this site not once I have seen that the brake lines are different between the two. And the rears apparently aren't for ANY ford vehicle and I bought them off of someone on here stating they were for the contour, kinda makes me mad. I'm not "blaming" CEG, I now know I need to do complete research and make sure I see pics before I buy something.

Oh, I understand now - if that member listed them for a contour then they are the wiser. Sorry it didn't work out, can you PM them and see about returning them?

Part of the issue is that the second pic shows the compression fitting of the hose being parted from the hose end. This should never be taken apart once the hose is assembled- it's a racing style hose end and has a one-time-use brass 'olive' inside it. The fitting that should be correct is the M10 thread which would be used to connect to a caliper or body hardline. The rears of the Countour varied over the years with early rears being Female hose end and later ones Male hose end (or reversed, I don't recall). Most hose kits you buy today have crimped on hose ends and not the hand made versions shown here.
