While I start to schedule events, hotels, and pick a date here are a few ‘Fun Facts’ about Akron to keep you busy.

Akron is home to the first police patrol vehicle (and the first donut shop  ), the first long distance electric railway, The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Devo!!!!!, Judy Resnik of the space shuttle Challenger, Broadcaster Hugh Downs, and of course LeBron James.

Some of your favorite products come from the Cleveland/Akron area
PB Blaster – Valley View, OH - http://www.blasterchemical.com/
Permatex – Solon, OH - http://www.permatex.com/
Hawk Performance (brake pads) – Solon, OH - http://www.hawkperformance.com/
Gojo – Akron, OH - http://www.gojo.com/
Goodyear – Akron, OH - http://www.goodyear.com/

Here is a list of things to do in and around the Akron area, these are outside of the activities that will be planned for SZ.
National Inventors Hall of Fame - http://www.invent.org/
Pro Football Hall of Fame - http://www.profootballhof.com/default.aspx
Hale Farm and Village - http://www.wrhs.org/index.php/hale
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens - http://www.stanhywet.org/
Summit County Metroparks - http://www.summitmetroparks.org/
Crawford Auto Museum - http://wwwhe.wrhs.org/index.php/crawford

Packard Auto Museum - http://packardmuseum.org/
Mentor Museum of Speed - http://www.bestofshowautomotive.com/
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - http://rockhall.com/
The Akron Aeros - http://www.akronaeros.com/

I will be going out probably next weekend to talk to the various hotels in the area. The hotel location will be in the Fairlawn/Copley area. This is easily accessible from Interstate 77. There are at least 6 hotels to choose from, 50+ restaurants within 5 miles, and just about any store you may need. If you want to google map the area just search for the Holiday Inn in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Stay tuned for more information!!!!!

Forgot about Summit Racing

My god father is the GM for that branch, let me see if there is anyway we can show/shine there

Its crazy, I used to live in Tallmadge Oh,and this years was here in Milwaukee. I wish I could luck out with Cougarfest like this!

I have to come right through Buffalo. Wonder where the rest of the NE crew will be routed. Caravan!

That's great man we usually meet at the Angola Rest Stop area, about 45 minutes west of Buffalo. Wouldn't mind hosting some of you guys for some great Buffalo eats too. It is my intent to not only drive the pre-98 but also enter it to the show and shine this year. I've got some plans, we'll see how far I can take them... NAPA discount at-cost is a hell of a money saver ;)

Feel free to ask, they usually don't have a problem with hosting meets, I just hope we get lucky and they have Super Summit on the same day

What is the date for this one? I may be able to make it. I can plan my R&R from Afghanistan around these dates. Let me know ASAP.

The actual date has not been set yet, I should have that narrowed down in the next couple of weeks. I would say most likely May 19-22 though.
