I've been strapped for cash lately & unfortunately the SVT has been the one taking the brunt of it.

Good news is I'm getting a bonus soon so I'll have the cash to get the work done:

-Lube, oil & filter
-Exhaust checked (it's making strange noises and needs a hanger replaced)
-ABS light is on
-Headlights aimed
-Winter tires swapped for Summers (I have the tires already)

Some pretty basic stuff, but I'm looking for a mechanic who can be my regular guy (as opposed to going to Midas or something) and figure this kind of basic maintenance would be a good start.

I remember someone mentioning a garage on Mattawa Dr. in Etobicoke as being reasonably priced and good guys?

Anyone with suggestions in/close to Mississauga would be appreciated.

PS: Could anyone ballpark the cost to have the above work done?

Aiming the headlights take 5minutes not even so don't pay to have them aimed. There is a Jiffy Lube that I took my car to near my house (correction Wes drove it there for me) and since I had my oil and filter already it was only $14 with tax to get them to do the change and they even vaccum the car and clean the windows :). I can get a buddy here to do your tires I'm sure and while it's up on the hoist he might be able to fix the exhaust so you dont have to go to an exhaust shop. might have a spare ABS sensor as I got a few of them from Bagged.

I've had an ABS light glowing for some time too. I've never had it fully diagnosed, and was sort of assuming it might be the (expensive!!) control unit. But if it's only a wheel sensor, I might take you up on one of those too.

Ok let me know :). My diagnosis was easy, my wheel chewed through my sensor wire in my wheel well  .
