My SVT is finally out of winter storage and the weather is finally warm and dry! All that = time for a detail!!!

Process included all Meguiar's products:

Wash w/ Gold Class soap
#80 Speed Glaze applied w/ PC
#81 Hand Polish applied w/ PC
#21 Synthetic Sealant applied w/ PC
Gold Class liquid was applied by hand
Detailer line glass cleaner used on windows
Hyper Dressing on tires and wheel wells
NXT Metal Polish on exhaust tips

Enough detail (pun intended ), now for the pics:

I'm already planning my next detail and photo shoot:cool:

I'm always tempted to take them off, but the fact that there are a couple of dings in the ding gaurds makes me want to keep them on. I love the look of the SVT w/ out them though, so we'll see....

NICE, I never thought Meguiars could do such a good job, Props to you and your Porter Cable, I needs to get me one of those.

NEways, I love your BMWesque wheels, look good on the poor man's BMW :)

Ding guards are fine, think how long they've been on and if it will show sunfade?
Unless your car has sat outside, baking in Arizona sun for 9 years, I highly doubt you'll see any fade issues.

I took mine off at 75,000 miles and you can't tell they were even there. The car sat outside most of its life

But the ding guards are already a different color than the paint!

It's much less of a difference in person, and it's very dependent on lighting. I'm not afraid of the paint being faded around the strips, I'm more worried about how much duller the paint is under the strips then the paint around the strips  (but that's nothing some Meguiar's products and the PC can't fix!).

well the paint won't be duller because it's been protected it's whole life! I have a black car and I had very noticeable "stripes" when I removed my ding guards. I had a detailer buff the hell out of one door and you'd never know anything was there.

Yes, I know that. I'm refering to the fact that the paint around the strip will be much shinier due to my numerous detailings over the years.
