Spoiler light issue

I just traded my non-spoiler trunk for one with a spoiler off a contour sport and I can't figure out how to get the brake light to work.

I still have the stock wiring and the salvage yard guys cut the wiring off the new trunk. From what I can tell, there is a purple wire and an extra black wire. I know the black is the ground, but what is the purple?

Or rather, how would I wire it up to my stock harness?

Some trunk harness' have the plug for the spoiler lights and some don't. We just hooked one up to my brother's car last night.

Open the trunk.
Look directly above the license plate lights.
Is there 1/2 of a plug connection?
If there is it will be a orange wire on the curved shape of the clip and a black wire on the flat side of the clip. You can find the other half of the clip or just splice into that.

If you have no wire/harness there then you just have to splice into your stock rear window third brake light wires which are also orange and black.
