But all four speakers are permanently out when the Kenwood is connected, no matter what I rattle, shake, or move. And all four speakers magically work when the stock unit is put back in. Sooooooommmmmeeehooowwwww I doubt it's the speakers.
Possibly, unless wires are touching somewhere.... could try another aftermarket HU to be sure...

I verified that there is NO factory amp, so that couldn't be it.

sounds like you need to hook up the blu/wht wire to turn on the factory amp if your not getting any sound....
Okay, I put the stock deck back in her car and the speakers work, but if she puts the volume above ~60% it starts to cut out. It's like it's volume limited or something...
