someone wasn't home ....

I don't understand the point of this thread and the googlemap link. What are we looking at and who isn't home? I clicked on the link but it doesn't really show much of anything except for a bunch of streets.
Get a better browser. IE6 isn't handling the links too well.

It's got to be in the late summer, early fall, there are leaves starting to fall from the trees. No cars are home in our driveway, I'm trying to figure out where I was, but the place I work only has older satellite pictures. How they heck do they get that footage? It looks like someone drove around in a car with a 360 degree camera.

Edit: I saw the Wikipedia article with a picture of the little car they drove around with. Pretty sweet, wish I saw it driving by.

Matt, there were different cars for different parts of the US. Oddly enough, it seems like a different camera setup was used too. For example, some New York views I saw, I couldn't scroll down to look at the car that took the photos, but in the New England views, you can.

Brian I didn't try IE7 ... weird. I wonder if it's a problem with Google interpreting their own links. I've only had the problem with IE6 though at work, Safari and FireFox have consistently handled them fine.
