Oh btw before I begin, I outgrew my old name (teenage contour) so changed it when the forums switched over. Anyway, on the way back this summer it was all over, i got like 20mpg the first part, then i calcualted 39, but theres now way that was right I'm thinking, then it went back to 24 then up to 28 then steady at 23-25 for the rest of the trip. this was a 2100 mile trip from orlando to international falls, mn holding at about 72 mph the whole way, no changes to explain this and it was all over the charts when we went through the mountians, so that didn't make it go down. I haven't done anything with it until the past few days and it is running allright, but get this-I pulled the pcv valve after maybe 3 minuites of driving across a parking lot, and it was soaked with gas!!!! the vacuum lines going to it were soaked too. I don't just mean wet, i mean you could see the gas starting to seep out where they connected and I'm guessing it evaporated from there, so it was quite a bit. So obviously there is a good bit of unburned gas here, which would explain why it boggs down and if you read the old posts you will see why else I know for a FACT it is running rich. A friend suggested the fuel regulator maybe had a crack in it? I think with the morons at Ford had another brillant engineering idea and now I get to tear apart the intake manifolds to get to it, which is almost impossible considering I'm at college and lacking a garage and definitly can't afford labor for that. But where is it for sure? If so, can this be done in a weekend, as I may be able to do that. And do you think this is my problem? What else would make so much gas be in the lines like this? Thanks for the help guys, I think I may have it narrowed down here hopefully!
