folks, my csvt came with a silencer security systems alarm, either a 5900p, 6900p, 6905p, or 6909p. i'm trying to figure out how to reprogram it so it stops honking when i arm or disarm it. the manual says it's doable but the dealer has to do it. i don't want to have the dealer do it and i've searched online and can't figure out how to do it myself. has anyone here reprogrammed the silencer alarm before?

Are you talking about Valet mode? or you just don't want the arm/disarm chirps? There are a few systems where the dealer simply will plug the control module "brain" into a computer to program it and activate a chirp delete. Its been a few years since I've worked with alarms, but try this. Alot of alarms will always give you the visual confirmation (lights flashing), but will only give audio confirmation (chirp/horn) depending on how the remote button is pressed. If you press it quickly .5 sec or less. you get visual and audio. but if you hold it down for say 1-1.5 sec. you will only get visual and no audio.

Not talking about Valet mode.. I don't want the arm/disarm chirps. I need to activate the chirp delete on it without going to the dealer.. :) .. i'll try the hold for 1-1.5 sec trick tonight to see if it arms/disarms without audio/chirp.. i'll report the results in the morning

ok, so i tried holding the lock and unlock buttons for 1-1.5 secs but the alarm arms/disarms right when i press the button and it chirps. so, that trick didn't work for this alarm system. i think there may be some jumper settings on the alarm module but i have no clue if that's the case. any ideas?
