Yes i searched. i'm just asking those who have taken their shift tower out while they're car was stuck in gear. if they had any tips on how to do it ? I'll be going back at it tomorrow to keep tuggin n pullin hopefully it'll pop free with a little help. (mines stuck in 2nd) So any help/suggestions would be great. i know its been done!

i don't recall which cable controls what but maybe try moving the counter weight and see if it comes out of gear?

Pull it up and towards the front of the car. It will take a little muscle, but it will come out. I assume you read the thread I started about a month ago. It has pictures as well that might help you.

Does it require patience and finesse... or is it safe to use a pry bar? *When* it comes out, does it move the forks so it's out of gear, or do you need to do that after the tower comes out?

I would not recommend using a pry bar. I would say it took me about 40-60 lbs of raw arm force to take out.

When the shift tower is removed, you will be able to easily adjust the tower to the neutral position.
