Shielded speaker wires?

I have some Infinity speakers on the way, and they will be hooked up to a Clarion Pro Audio HU. I want to go ahead and bypass the factory amp, but rather than sort out all the wiring I was thinking it would be easier to run new wiring to the doors. Which brings me to my question. Would shielded speaker wiring be desirable, or even useful at all? I'm wanting to keep my sound as crystal clear as possible. It sounds pretty good now with the factory wiring and the cheapo Pioneers from Wally World, no buzzing or interference from the car's electrica system. If shielded wiring really won't make a difference, then I obviously don't want to spend the money on it.

When I had my infinity speakers, I had them hooked up to a 4-channel amp mounted in the trunk. Instead of running new speaker wires, I ran the speaker wires from the trunk (using shielded wires) to the speaker wire harness behind the dash. From there, the factory speaker wire was used. It sounded fantastic. If you're happy with the clarity from the Pioneers then sounds to me like it ain't broke...so don't fix it.

I was thinking the same to run new wires throughout the car. I will too be installing infinity speakers with a 4 channel amp. I may go iBrent's way running shielded wire up to the dash, but after openeing the doors up and looking at the wires, I may just decite to run all new wires straight to the back.

Do you mean insulated wires? When I think of "shielded" I think of Speakers that wont mess up your monitor.......Um, Id say dont waste your money. Maybe make a new run with some decent Monster Cable from wallmart or somethin' into the door but, If it aint broke dont fix it.....Then again someone says on here, "it wasnt broke, but I fixed it anyway" lol.

running wire to the doors is a PITA seriously
you're better off with the stock wire
unless you're gonna add an amplifier to the door speakers

Ive used crappy small wire, also nice new monster wire, I can't tell the diff....All these noise posts I can't understand where the interference some people have is coming from...but its not my ride, and I shouldn't be talking I guess. But, I'd use the wire that comes with the speakers (alpine, infinity, quart whatever) and it works for me. I always wanted to dynamat my doors though.....

I plan on running a 400w amp for my door speakers, should I re-run the wiring while I'm soundproofing the doors?

Thats what I was going to say. The door connectors are a royal pain. The difference in sound you'll get will not be noticable if at all. I would use the factory wires and then switch to shielded IF you have interference problems which I doubt you ever will. Its once you start running large power wires next to the speaker cables that you begin to have issues (again, if any) .
Look at it this way, I will cost you nothing and save you a hell of alot of time if you try the stock wires first.

For the cost of them, shielded really don't seem to be worth it, so I'm going with some good thick wire. When I've got the door pulled apart to install the speakers, I'll look to see how complicated it will be to run new wires. I'll have to run a few extra inches inside the door regardless. I don't really care to use connectors and crimps, so I soldered the last set of speakers in place (as these will be). They didn't have any slack to speak of, so I need a little extra inside the door.

i cant wait to sounden my doors trunk floor actually everything i can!

should sound good wish there was an easy place to mount tweeters.

i also looked into runniing the wire in the doors and the time to get to run through the connector was a complete pain so im just using my factory wires. everthing is good except for summ buzzing but thats just crappy grounds i think.
