i was wondering if anyone knew what material the wilwood rotors are made out of. also is it possible to find the exact dimensions of them some how. im curious because my grand father owns his own machine shop and was gonna see if he could make my rotors for me. were tryin to find out the exact material and dimensions.

Cast iron. As all common rotors are. (exotics aside here)

Does he have a foundry to properly mix materials to pour a rotor? You have some sand castings to produce them? As for size...if he can overcome the two former questions he'll have no problems measuring them for the data needed to produce them.

In the end, is all this really worth it? I mean we're talking about $125 a rotor. Cheap!

I hope you're just planning on making a paper weight for your desk. I wouldnt ever put a custom made brake rotor on my car and expect it to last past the first heat cycle.

I'll agree. If he can do those he can probably do these too.

So call him and ask him to make a set for you. If he has that capacity there's nothing on a forum that's going to be any value to him that he needs help with.

Obviously, what he is asking for is the dimensions (Total Diameter, Hub Diameter, Hub Step Height, Thickness, etc.) to mill one. If he had an already made rotor to measure off of, he wouldn't be here asking about making his own, now would he?

exactly but i may end up waiting and just buying the wilwood whole kit or something that way i have aftermarket calipers too.

Without hats what's the point in giving out rotor specs? There are dozens of different combos you could do.

Widths of:
.810
1.10
1.25
1.375

OD's of:
11.75
12.19
12.9
13.06
14.0
+

Bolt circles of;
8 on 7
8 on 7.625
12 on 7.625
12 on 8.375
12 on 8.750
+

And if none of that works, you can do your own 12.6 x 1.160 rotor with a 10 on 8.125" bolt circle if you're making up the whole thing from scratch. I understand exactly what's being asked. But the question is so vague and there are so many optional answers there is no "one" answer. And as I said before; if he's got the ability to do the rotors he can do anything he wants and clearly make the hats to go with them.
