First off, on the inside scoop...I went around for a few hours a couple weeks back, only to get home and find my camera was in a pixilated mode the whole time. This time, I made sure the camera was set right. Needless, the pictures turned out much better.

Let me know what you think. I figure once the Mini comes next week, there won't be as much love for the Speed. :p Anyway, plenty more pics if wanted, but these are the ones that made the cut so far. Also, no need to comment about lowering this...the springs I want should be coming out in a week or so. :yesnod:

Very nice pictures, although I would have taken more from the front. That first picture is excellant (it is now my desktop). I like how you look up at it, but maybe too much of the retaining wall.
Still nice pictures of a nice car.

Zoom Zoom on!

thats so sekzy....how's the power?

Power is, well, it's very niiiiice :) Now if Mazda could just fix the smoking issues I have...that would impress me.

Thanks, I have one that has more of what you're looking for...I'll put it on tomorrow for ya.

i think that the picture has good proportion . to little wall and it shouldnt be there and to go higher means to add more sky. i like it. maybe if it was moved the camera to the left and put the car more in the upper right

and yeah drop that bish. how much do the springs drop

Initially, I had this pic...in all I'm not wild about it because I have the car filling up the top 1/2 of the pic. I left nothing to either side like the rest...

The springs will drop the car 1/2 inch in the back, 1 inch in the front. If you take a look at the wheel gap, you can see there's a little more in the front. I'm hoping for a slight rake stance...however, there more for performance than looks.

Speed 6 > Mini

but still both nice cars

Maybe I shoudl clarify...Mini S Convertible, which is not equal to the Speed 6. (but if you want a reference, just take a look at the resale value of both). My Mazda is a fine car...but there is no connection to it like I had with my Contour, hence, it's being demoted to my crappy weather car ;)

lookin' good.
What did you do with the other wheels?
(I need winter wheels :o )

I blew two rims out hitting a pothole @ the beginning of spring. I'm going to try and get them fixed, and the other two are ready holding my winter treads. Sorry :) I can tell you this...if you have potholes like I do...go with a 17" rim for your snow shoes. Trust me on this one...

Yeah we're definitely hunting around for some 17's. I'm not crazy about putting 18's on it for the winter.
Since everyone seems to ditch the stockers, I'm hoping to snag a set from someone before winter arrives.

The price on them was real cheap at first...then someone decided the MS6 wheels look good on a regular 6. Now they're starting to go for some $$$.

You can always go out an get some RX-8 rims...they look nice on the MS6 (weigh less too).

Is the MINI convertable for you:confused:

Sure...well, I guess both of us, it's just a weekend / fun in the sun car. My wife and I will both drive it, I'm sure for the first few weeks it will be whoever leaves the house first. (after I properly break it in, of course). I'm not getting rid of any cars, if that's what you're asking anyway... :)

Well I work for Mazda.... the Speed 6 is definately one of my favourite cars to drive! What smoking issue is there? I haven't heard of that yet, but all our speeds are generally brand new.

I can't tell if this is a carbon build up issue or the turbo seals went bad. If I drive in first gear under normal conditions...then shift to second and press the pedal about 2/3rds of the way down, I can get a nice cloud of smoke behind me. Definitely something that should not happen with only 10K on the car and I can duplicate it pretty easily.

I had a very light break in period, driving easy for 3000 miles, changed the oil at 600 miles with regular dino, again at 2000 with regular oil, then at 5000 with Mobil1. I don't think it's anything I could have done...and some others are having similar issues (all A list VIN numbers which are early 2006's).

I also have a small oil leak coming from the passenger side of the engine...I have not been able to locate the source yet. I had an appointment set for last week, but had to cancel. I'm hoping to get it back in there this week.

Love the car. Naturally, I'm a Mazda fan.. although mine was a bit less.. okay, well, it was crap. 92 protege DX :D

well i definately don't think it's carbon build up... not with that few miles on the engine... but an oil leak also shouldn't cause puffing coming from the exhaust (which is where i'm assuming it's coming from) are there oil spots in the driveway? because if there is, make sure you get it checked out right away!!!! i work at a dealership, and even if they notice a leak when doing oil changes and such, they will NOT tell you about it until after your warrenty expires. us mechanics get more money that way! i personally hate to avoid telling the owners about stuff like that, but go in and specifically say you have a leak you want them to find. just a tid bit of info for you! in terms of the puffing smoke, what colour is it? it could be so many different things, but the colour could help to narrow it down.

There was some oil in my garage...but most of it is being caught in that plastic shield that goes under the engine.

As for the smoke...looks grey to me (not white or blue anyway). I thought at first maybe it was the ecu running rich as I get black soot around the pipes too...but I think there's too much of it just to be that.

What's the chance it could just be a fouled plug?
