yeah my family had three of them over the years. first one was a 85 and then the 89 which i believe was the high ouput one. both had 5 spds. then i got a 92 atx as my first car. then my brother drove it and then my dad did for a winter and then it was donated a number of years ago. we got into the contours in 96 when my dad got his 95 SE ... and the rest is history.
I couldn't find any other pictures of the rack on my car. if the weather is nice later in the week and I put it on the car and get a few pictures.

I have a yakima rack on my mazda and love it. I got their q tower system, 3 of the raptor mounts, 7 locks ( one for each tower + one for each raptor mount) and a wind deflector (get one fo real) and it was a pricey bastard but well worth it. Not taking off front tire with disc brake moutain bike = ftw.
As i recall i looked for one for the svt they didn't have one but that was years ago

I guess the Yakima with the Q40 clips is gonna be the route to go.
all years and all models are going to be the same. the yakima towers and clips I have where previously used on a post 98 contour. I then used them on my 95 mystique, as pictured.
