My rockers are pretty damn bad, so I'm taking her in to get the cancer removed.Has anyone ever had it done or just knows about how much it should cost? Just trying to get a ballpark figure. I also have an approximately 3 inch spot on the lip of the driver side rear wheel well.So factor that repair in too please.

I don't believe anyone has every really bothered to have this done. I do recall one person, who posted about it on FCO. All I can recall is it cost like $1,500 .... which is alot for a car that isn't worth much more then that.

sadly that is why the rockers are rusting away on my dd and I am not doing anything about it.

I had the rocker and quarter panels of my old 95 Contour replaced a few years ago. The price was around $1000. The repaired areas began to show signs of rust within a year or so. From what I've observed, repairs to these areas often fail earlier than owners expect. I wouldn't do it again.

I just did mine back in September. My dad helped me a lot with it. Cost was nothing out of pocket cuz we had all the tools and extra sheet metal necessary to complete the job. We did both sides, replacing 2/3 of each side from the back wheel well to the middle of the front doors. We put in about 40-50man hours per side due to 3 layers of the body being rusted out and having to fab replacement panels by hand. It wasn't fun...

I guess I have to think about it then. I wasn't opposed to dropping that much cash but since you said odds were it wouldn't last too long . . . . I'll be sad to see my girl go though. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears.

I would ask if the repair failed in a few years if it was done correctly. I would have to think that if the repair was done correctly, and it was prepped and painted correctly and then taken care of it shouldn't be a problem.

There is a guy is my area that specializes in rust repair and does work for fairly cheap. I was quoted around $500 to fix a 1/4 panel dent and the rocker. This include replacing some sheet metal near the rear wheel and front. The price didn't include painting though. If only the rocker needed fixing the price would have been less than $300.

My rocker isnt horrible and is fixable with only a bit of welding and new steel. If the whole rocker had needed replacing the cost would have been $1000+ .

If your rockers are totally rusted out , its not worth fixing unless you can do it yourself If its a minor repair it might be worth fixing.

In my experience no body shop will give you any kind of guarantee. So the point is moot. She still runs good but she has been my dd for over 7 years. Would have liked to have done a 3.0 swap and keep her but unfortunately with all the money id put into it cost / value would be an issue. Thanks for the advice
