hi i noticed on my reverse light melted as you can see in the pic where the white spot is. just wondering if the bulb got hot enough? im guessing when i was in washington at night i had the key on acessories and had the gear in reverse for the reverse light to come on so i can see when i unload the trailer atr night. i probably had them on for a good 20 mins or maybe 30 mins. but can the light melt the lense for the reverse light bein on for so long? it's not a biggie to me but im just curious. sorry it's too early in the morning here. well anyways thanks.

Doesn't really matter. They get hot and quick, it takes a matter of 15 seconds for them to be hot too hot to touch. So yeah, lesson learned... Use your reverse lights for what there purpose is, going in reverse

That is the same thing that happened to mine about 2 weeks after I put the blue bulbs in. I am going to say that the blue bulbs run hotter then normal.

Did you also have the reverse lights on a long time? A colored bulb will run hotter.

i got my blue bulbs from walmart where all thecar stuff was like where the seat covers were and all that it wasnt where all the tail light bulbs where. i had it in there for almost 3yrs paid 7 bucks for it.

A colored bulb will run no hotter than a standard bulb. The color has nothing to do with it. It's the wattage that is important.

What wattage were these bulbs that you guys installed?

I haven't left them on for a long period of time. Not sure what the wattage was on those. They were the only ones they had on the self the day my second reverse light went out.
