Replaced ignition switch, temporary fix, no start.

Long story short, the finger was pointed to a bad ignition switch. Replaced with motorcraft piece, fixed for a few days, now it's back to no start.

Cranking sounds fine, nothing abnormal, just doesn't start (cranking speed is normal, not slow)
PATS light looks like it should, no fast blinking or solid light the entire time
Car can be push started and it runs fine
Starter was just changed

I'm at a loss as to what it can be. Can someone helps out? Gets fuel and spark (car runs after being push started) unless it can be that intermittent to when it doesn't start then it's not firing off?
 
have you changed the crank and cam sensor?

have you changed the clutch pedal switch?
 
If it were the cam/crank, shouldn't it not even run if I got it push started? Because it runs fine like nothin is wrong

Also, if it were pedal switch, shouldn't that just be that it would allow for cranking or not an have nothing to do with the actual starting?
 
you didnt answer my questions....


its not the clutch pedal switch your right but mercedes has a common issue with the crank sensor and it causes a no start condition.
 
didnt you message me on fb asknig me about what crank sensor you have in your car?

actually this would only be if you go turn the car on and nothing happens not even cranking. my turbo car has this problem where i will go to start it and nothing happens. I need to have the key cranking and step on the clutch pedal like im playing a drum set... in this case its either the clutch pedal switch or started solenoid...
 
Try this, partially open the throttle while cranking it. I have seen a few stuck idle air control valves cause a no start because they don't open enough. Mine does that on really cold mornings, just touch the gas and it fires. I can shut it off and restart it and it works fine the rest of the day.
 
Give it a quick blip of the throttle. If you hold the gas pedal full open that is the pedal position to turn off fuel.
 
I had the exact same issue. I did:

Checked all fuses
Switched the big square fuses around under the hood (and checked with DMM)
Switched the big square fuses from another SVT over
New Battery
Pulled all grounds and cleaned off all corrosion
Replaced the clutch pedal safety switch
Took off the battery cables. The positive cables that run to the starter had cracked and I could see metal. I re-insulated the entire cable section
Checked the mega switch

Aaaand still had the issue. I finally replaced the starter, insuring that the cable ends at the starter were tight and well connected. Problem never materialized after that.

Which is exactly what mine did. As long as it was an hour or 2 within running it would start every time. Anything longer...no start. But it would bump start everytime...

I agree its frustrating. I chased my a** for weeks.
 
This has been going on for months now lol I'll look into it. Sucks we can't get a brand new starter, only remans.

Unless someone can help a brutha out?!
