OK everyone told me duplicolors wheel paint didn't match. well IMO it dose!!! guess which one is repainted. the new one has so much gloss and very bright sparkle. I'm very very happy with the out come. the repainted one had curb rash and was pitted. all fixed with spot putty. to bad i didn't take pics of when the spot putty was visible. the wheel paint flowed together so well its like glass. enamel paint has always flowed together well for me. and i used the wheel paint clear coat. cause the can says DO NOT use auto spray clear over it. but the new one looks better than the factory paint!

nope the right one is. i dont know why the pic makes the other one look brighter. but i swear the color and sparkle are so close you could put both those on the same side of the car and you wouldnt be able to tell.

Good job man!!!

The rim looks great.

Now what color of duplicolor was it exactly? Also how much was it. How many coats did you put on also.

Did you sand down the entire wheel or just part of it. I have some wheels I need to paint and would like some specifics.

Looks sweet.

ok yes i sanded the whole thing down with 400 and then 1000. 2-3 coats of primmer. after primmer sand primmer with 1000. then 3 coats of color. color was: "Dulplicolor SILVER wheel coating"(HWP101 Silver). its the only silver there is for there "wheel coating" then 2 coats of "Duplicolor wheel coating clear"(HWP103 Clear). you must use matching clear and color because its enamel not lacquer. primmer was "duplicolor sand-able primmer".
i also used spot puddy for curb rash.
I'm going to make a how-to with the next wheel. the how-to on svtperformance.com has flaws.

so if you can wait a bit ill have a very good how-to for you all.

No I want him to do them lol

hahah I'm not going to offer any services. its time consuming and i have no idea how well they will hold up yet. i also have hardcore ADD when it comes to stuff like this so it takes me a few days each wheel. with everything i got to fix the cub rash and paint and sand paper was about $90
and yea thats all out of a rattle can(spray paint).

again ill see about doing a how-to.

I'm sorry to say that i will not be doing a how-to on this. i have been having problems with the paint. and i don't want anyone else to. sorry guys

wait what happened? They look so good tho! I hope its not the same thing that happened to my duplicolor painted intake manifold

of the blobs? they still need to be sanded out. but the first page in this thread the wheel on the right is the finished one

Sounds like a heat issue to me. Could be wrong though!
Hopefully you figure it out.

its not a heat problem. its just this one can. first can was perfect. and i have thermometer and a humidity thingy so its not the weather. i should have been done weeks ago. but i have to way for the paint to harden so i can sand it off.
