im going to be installing some koni yellows and i was looking through my haynes manual. it said that i have to remove the brake caliper when installing new struts, is this really necessary? could i just leave the caliper on while installing the new strut?

thats good to know. ill try to avoid takin the caliper off cuz im lazy and i dont want to have to bleed the brakes

You can take off the caliper, as in unbolting it from the bracket then removing the brake bracket to take the rotor off, for more working room. You don't disconnect the fluid line, just tie the caliper up out of the way or place it on an upside down bucket off to the side. don't leave it hanging by the line itself. Dealing with struts the job is easier with out the rotor in the way IMHO.
