Rear Caliper Anti-Rattle Clips

I've recently done the rear disc swap and I'm having trouble installing the anti rattle clips. I know which way they go but they hit the top of the pads and pop out. Any help would be appreciated.

Would not having these installed cause a low pedal feel? I know the rear calipers haven't adjusted all the way to the rotor. I have to give to brakes a little pump to get good steady pressure. The park brake works fine and on hard braking I can lock up all four wheels. I've bleed the brakes twice. Would it help if I bleed the brakes with the park brake on? These are new calipers.

i don't completely remember off hand but I think that the clip can only go in one way ...
