I go the baers for the fronts but it squashes the way the rears look now. I want to upgrade the rear rotor size atleast using a bracket for the rear calliper. BUT I want to be able to use the ebrake kuz I just got some that work.
Any ideas. I think the nautilus kit has a bracket and rotor package.....? I also do not want to have to grid down the rotor or hub.....

Nautilus rear kit is your best option available right now, I can have rotors machined down for you, and what's the fear of doing a little grinding?

I'm seriously thinking of using the Nautilus kit , with my 278mm front rotors on the back of my Mk1 Mondeo, cost to import to the UK, including shipping will be about $200, depending on the £ to $ exchange rate.
Then will use either Jaguar X type calipers and 300mm Focus rotors os a Hi Spec kit with 4 pots and 320mm rotors up front.

the STOCK SVT front calipers can be used on the 300mm front rotors with the Nautilus front kit as well.

Unless you are WANTING larger calipers, then ignore what I said! :D

I actually backed out of a killer deal on the baer brakes. Too costly to justify spending the $... I will be looking for something different for fronts and rear now..... josh, let me be your ginne pig.

The track car will be the test vehicle, and it's the only vehicle that's being worked on until spring as of last Sunday. I'll let you come take a peak at how progress is going in January. :)

For rears... don't forget about the TCE kit. They're 11.75" and help retain the bias if you have 13" fronts (TCE, Baer, etc...).

me likey pole..... any idea on a price then? PM me if you do. Thanks. I might get the baer brakes if they are available in a few months again. I have to pay for a wedding ring by the end of FEB. $3200 EEEEEEK!

I know, I know.... I am still going to try to get the baer brakes later, now was just not the time.

My standard 11.75 rear rotor kit retains the stock caliper and has done so for many years. I can also sub in the Wilwood parking brake caliper to match the fronts if your pockets are deeper. Figure a bump up of about $700. What's it worth?

Todd... that's $700 just for the Wilwoods or the kit total, including them? I picked up the normal rear kit from your shop last year... but saw your rear Wilwood kit on a local Lincoln LS a few months ago. I've been wondering if those were available for our platform ever since then.

Based on the shown MINI kit, that's $700 over the current price of the rotor kit.

Yes, I know....but the calipers are nearly two bones each and they require dedicated radial mount brackets, so figure another $350 for a set of those with studs, hardware etc.

The MINI rear runs a bit more than $1100. And I suspect is a larger market so a run of Contour/Cougar brackets is going to be more costly.

$3200 for a wedding ring damn that!!!!! i bought my wife a ring and band and i a wedding band for less than a grand and she never knew the difference till i told her that i got them altogther. i would never spend more than a grand on a wedding ring unless we had been married for at least 5 yrs. And even then we would split the cost.

2 words, Cubic Zirconia... she'll never know the difference.

Todd I know I've talked to you in the past on substituting the rear calipers, have things changed or am I still on my own for e-brake cables?

Cost- the best I can quote is $1300+/- a bit. Depends also on color and rotor finish. Those issues aside I'd need to see what is the best method of doing the brackets for them. If we can use an off the shelf radial adapter from Wilwood that fits the iron cage and bolt that to my steel bracket it's fairly easy and cost will drop a lot.

If I have to make dedicated radial mounts (which would be the more ideal, yet costly) for this you can be certain the cost will run in the upper range.

Cables- the caliper fits a "somewhat" universal design cable/lever design. As in the MINI and LS the stock cable was used with some spacer/adapters to the cable jacket to control the cable pull stroke. It might be possible to use the oem ones but I'm not going to say so. If you need custom cables I can hook you up with the same shop Wilwood uses for their needs.

Good news is that I think I still have the rear knuckle here if someone really wants to do this.
