Rara would beat MX's old mustang @ waterford

Rara would beat many things in his contour. I'm not sure why he hasn't figured out that the privacy of his own home is a better venue.

To be fair, I was trying to explain to Pud that big power is not what makes a good road course car. And that on a tight and short track where you can't open the car up, the big power isn't very helpful. Waterford was being used as an example of a short and tight track.

my car would be a nightmare at waterford. though the extra power would help make up for a complete lack of driving skill.

The real question is, is that why would anyone even talk about something like this. It would never happen in our lifetimes.

Exactly, Pud posed a ridiculous scenario, and my answer was "probably".

The funny part was, this all stemmed from our conversation where he said the 03 Cobra was more suited to being a road course car than a drag strip car, and I said it needed a lot of help to do either well. He got so upset he had to stop discussing it and block me on IM, which I found funny because it was such a silly discussion.

indeed. though if i had to pick one that it leaned more towards, it would be road course. not by much though.

doesn't matter though... my car will be gone soon, and yours will never be back on the road again.

word on the streets is that the motor is in, and even runs! i think.

Well, it was in, and running, but I decided I wanted to polish the connecting rods, so I took it back out and its in pieces again. I estimate it'll be back on the road sometime in 2010.

Well, the only thing the terminator has going for it in regards to being better on the road course than a GT, is more power, stiffer suspension tuning, bigger brakes, and the IRS. The power comes at a big price though in terms of weight over the nose, which is really expensive and time consuming to fix. Something like 200lbs more over the nose than a GT, or even a Mach 1. Stiffer suspension is better in this case, as are the larger brakes (though very easy and cheap to upgrade the GT to the same parts). The IRS is a tough call, its heavy, but it is better dynamically stock compared to the stock solid axle geometry, and the unsprung weight is lower.

So, basically, the Terminator is a big nose heavy car with a lot of power, and easy to make tons more. Power can cover up a poor chassis to some extent on the road course, but someone will eventually crash because of it. I think it is a much simpler proposition to make a "good" drag racer out of one than it is to make a "good" road racer. In stock form it is definately fun to screw around with either type of racing, but its not great at either one without a lot of work.

I blocked you because you were being a GOON and I had to pay attention in class instead of flipping out and killing you.... twice.

You managed to take one argument, and twist my words, as well as change the subject.... which was a matter of opinion!

I suggested that if your primary goal was do to 8s in the quarter you'd be much better off buying a fox which is a) about 20,000 cheaper, and b) has a solid axle to begin with. I feel that the terminator is much better suited to a road course, being that it begins with an IRS and a healthy dose of power (drrrrrr power is not everything :bah:). At which point you pretty much negated the cobra as anything but a sack of penile excrement on the road course. "its too heavy, the motor blows, blah blah blah" As if relocating the battery, swapping to a tubular K-member... etc. etc. is

(thanks kim... I think you posted that)

Thats when The contour part came up, I told you that the 2.5 duratec sucks balls on the track too but people still do it... how is the 4.6 any different!? (aside from kicking ass in pretty much all areas).

But its ok now.... We can both at least agree that I rock and you don't.
