since some of us have put racing seats in the coug/contour have you guys woirried about the fia certification? ie if you wreck are you worried that these fiberglass or carbon fiber backed seats will crack or break on you? and are most of these racing seats that are reclinable fia certified? i know its easier to get a certified fia fixed back seat than a reclinable seat but are they really worth it? and are oem seats in the cougar, contour or other cars crash tested?

Im about 95% sure that the only FIA certified seats are solid back. in other words, there are no reclineable seats that are FIA certified. if you want/need an FIA certified seat than its going to be a solid back (those Sparco seats I quoted you via PM on NECO are likely the least expensive).

as for your last question, why would OEM seats not be crash tested? the entire car is crash tested, with seats.
