Hey guys I purchased a spec stage 3 clutch(6 puck disc style) and the drivability is ok on it! It grips a bit to much for daily driving!

I am looking into a 3L and would like to know if it is possible to just replace the disc with a 3+ which i hear has better drivability do to the regular circle disc! Where can I get just the clutch disc and will it work with my pressure plate and all that stuff!

by the way i have a 99 csvt and had the stage 3 kit for about less than 4k miles!

why would you have installed a stage 3 clutch in a 2.5 svt that isn't turbo? If you had researched at all a stage 3 clutch is only recommended for a built built 3L or a turbo svt. Anything less than that and a spec stage 1 is recommended.

I am into my way to a 3L and then most likely a turbo. I think its dumb 2 buy a stage 1 and then buy a stage 3! I understand what your saying because stock its retarded. But im retarded LOL:shrug:.

I believe the stage 3+ disc will work with the stage 3 pressue plate, but I'm not sure how much driveablity you will gain. The stage 3+ has great driveablity, but it also doesn't use the same pressue plate as the stage 3 obviously. I think I have a brand new stage 3+ disc laying around so now you can make that special combo with the stage 3 PP and 3+ disc. :)

yeah, well the guy who I bought my car from, put a spec stage II in for some reason, I have no idea why, even though its the one clutch that is recommended not to get.

Lol, kevlar FTL! It actually isn't a half bad clutch for longevity and decent driveablity, but you sure don't want to glaze it over because glazing kevlar is no good!

yeah its been on for about 10k and grabs harder than ever and is definately driveable, a perfect median, I drove my friends stock clutched svt and hate it compared to mine.

Ya I heard about the Stage 2s thats why I was like lets just go Stage 3. and this was done ONLY 4000 miles ago. Thing is I hate the Grab on it. You cant Manipulate the clutch without it wanting to GO and when you do try to manipulate it, it makes this sound thats horrible ppl think my car is broken!!!! I need better drivability for the city roads! and I was told 3+ is a better way to go!

Just wanted to know if it in fact is a better way to go and if the 3+ clutch disc will work on my car without having to buy the whole kit! If this is possible WHERE or WHO can I buy them off!

I remember there was a CEG member that deals with Spec Clutches and sells them just cant remember the name?

I'm pretty sure you can't just swap to the 3+ disc without upgrading to the 3+ pp. I could be wrong though. Even the 3+ is not exactly daily driver friendly, from what I hear its better (i've never driven a stage 3) but the 3+ still aint no stock clutch. It's kinda on or off, but you'll get that with any heavy duty clutch. My 3+ makes all sorts of racket when you're trying to slip it.

My stage II make nasty noises when trying to slip it when it was nearly new, but quit making the noises after about 4,000 miles. It made the same noise as SHOgofast's stage 3 clutch.

Heh well thats a bummer 2 hear! I was thinking it was the 6 puck disc style that was leading to all that nastyness!

Heh I think im going to have to pm svt cuervo!

Why are you always yelling!?!

IM NOT! LOL

Ya the way I type. Im just frustrated with this cause Ive had it on for less than 4000 miles and its going to get annoyin. I just want something that will pair up good with my future 3L and a turbo(far future).

any other suggestions?
