Its probably a good drive for us in the NE CEG, but I have hopefully found some good luck!

Our physics deparment at ESU (well 3 of us and one prof) will be taking a school vehicle down to the annual punkin' chunkin' contest in Delaware! And yes trebuchet's are physics related!

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I will be there Saturday! And would be fun to maybe meet some of the Capitol CEG guys. I have already posted in the their forum.

The long and short:
Event goes Nov 2nd - 4th ~8am to ~11PM
7 dollars to get in, 2 dollars to park
The's a bunch of pumkin related events, and of course trebuchet and air cannon mayhem!

Thats pretty cool, last year in my Applied Engineering class we made a small trebuchet. It worked rather well for its size. The biggest problem we had was getting the ball to launch out of the sling(for the lack of a better word). It was a good way to end the year by launching various gym class balls in the courtyard.

My family was just down in Rehoboth Beach last week for the Sea Witch festival. They were talking about this contest, seeing a real working trebuchet would rock.

Well i'm back home after the chunk!

It was a long day, got up @ 6 am, was like a 4 hour ride down including a stop for breakfast. Spent the whole time walking around and watching pumkins flying. Then about a 4-4 1/2 hour ride home with dinner at the Dover waffle house.

Good day overall. But I'm beat. Standing around in a field watching air cannons and trebuchets kicked my ass. Might not have helped that it was a little cold and windy. I'll post some pictures tomrrow hopefully. I need to get the Cavy waxed and the contour situation worked out first.

Sounds like you had a pretty good day. :) Although it was a long day sounds like you had fun.

Can't wait to see your pictures.

This week of school is going terrible, and I found out that I have an exam next tuesday for my stats class. on top of the retake for my phys 4 class.

I'm also pretty sure I have a linear exam next week too :blackeye:

I just finally got to look through them last night. I didn't even upload them off the camera yet.

I'll see what I can do after rewriting my philosphy paper tonight.
