Not sure where to post this... So I though here would be a start.
If not, relocate this to the proper area please.

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this subject.

Looking into buying one of the plastic welding units and it seems straight forward.

After seeing so many really nice headlights in the junk yard with busted tabs I thought most if not all could be salvaged using this method.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Went and got myself a plastic welder and tried it out.

My first try at welding tabs back on

My second attempt at welding tabs. I think I got the hang of this

Looks like it turned out pretty well! Which plastic welder did you buy and where did you get it? Just curious, these area a couple things I would like to get, plastic and metal welders.

I bought the $50 one when i needed to fix my bumper... took a little bit to get everything figured out with which rod to use and temp settings... Everything seemed to turn out great.

It did take some 'trial and error' on that for me. Once I got the understanding of how the whole thing works, it was easy!

Nice. I discussed this exact same thing with my engineer buddy. I have perfect lights with one mesteriously broken tab.
Good deal, thanks for posting.

I just finished up 4 headlights today.
I will post pics as soon as I have them cleaned up. I will you right now, I really doubt anyone can tell they got repaired.

This is way too easy!

I don't think that one will do much :)

Now real question is will that repair hold or break at the repair?

I put the grill through some really hard testing to see if I could get the tab to crack at the weld. I think that the tab is as strong as when the tab was new.

Just picked up this one today. Fixed a couple of milk bottle holders (will have to see how they hold up with product in them. Then I separated a SVT grille and used it to put it back together. Seems to work pretty well. Need a bit more practice to make things look "pretty" but so far seems pretty good.
