Almost time to change your signature. Thats just crazy. How did it get so many miles so fast? Cross country trips?
 
A lot of trip wherever. I knew the guy who owned it before me too. Thats where most of the mileage came from. He would drive back and forth from Omaha, NE to Kansas City, Mo everyday for his job. He bought it with 70K ish and drove it to 260k. thats when i got it.
 
I had 208k miles on my old 99 SE before the timing chain snapped...thing still had the original clutch in it too.
 
the Silver E0 SVT im useing as a DD now has 28x,xxx. ill post pix tomorrow. runs great. interior is damn near perfect and only one clutch replacement other then normal maintence.
 
to contourspd98 - If you had an average of 25mpg, and the average price of fuel was about $2.50/ gal and if you were the original owner, you would have spent about 34000 dollars on fuel alone. Random, i know.
 
my one buddy that helped me swap engines in my tempo has a 98 E0 SVT in T-red with just over 215,000 miles on the original engine, trans and clutch.

honestly, even though contourspd98 has me beat in miles, i think my 97 was still great. it had original engine, trans and clutch at 241K miles. one of the dampening springs in the pressure plate blew up but the clutch plate itself still had lots of life left and the engine was very strong.
 
I'm not saying that there is anything great about my car... Yes, it has a lot of miles. But thats about it.

To me its a great car cause it gets me from A to B with no problems. And its never given me any problems other than small things and routine maintenance. To everyone, there is probably a car that means alot to them that nobody understands.
 
got that right contourspd98 about a car meaning a lot and no one understands, thats why i just bought a 1988 Ford TEMPO GLS
