Putting ST200 heads and cams on to a SE engine, also changing the timing gear from imperial to metric(to suit cams) i cant seem to find any timing marks on the chain. Does anyone have any photos or info about this?

All i can see is below

Why would someone do this to a normal 2.5 is about the silliest thing I've ever heard. You might want to buy a manual from me.

Thanks for that!

Being in the UK, there aint much else to do to the engine. Ask nicely for help and advice and get shot down for it.

Todras, No need for your expert lack of help, found them by the stamped number from the crank sprocket link (very faded, had to use different light source)

Cheers to anyone who would have helped.

Lock thread please.

aussiejock, sorry, we're not all like that over here. good luck on your project, like sheryl corw said, if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad. with that siad if it makes you happy that's all that counts!

Mikeswartz, cheers fella! I aint got nothing against the yanks as i work with them in Iraq. as below states,

"Welcome to Contour.ORG, home of the Contour Enthusiasts Group and simply the best place for information on the Ford Contour, Mercury Mystique, or European Ford Mondeo."

It seems some people are above the helping status, us mere minions in the UK do not have the luxury of big gas guzzlers that are available in the states, so we do what we have to do to get decent power gains. As far as i know i am the only person to put SVT heads & cams on a SE engine in the UK! never mind the 1 person to do a 3L conversion.

As much as i like you guy 's just as many piss me off aswell

Don't want to upset the majority,Just the one person, regardless of nearly 23,000 posts!

I'm from the UK aswell and i'm going to be putting st200 heads and cams on my 2.5 V6 :) lets us know what the cars like after you have finished :)

I think he asked for both.

The opinion part is that Todras was implying that doing this upgrade to a 2.5L would not yield as good of results as swapping in a 3L.
Yes, sometimes todras is a man of few words. ;) And I wouldn't hold it against him. :D I knew exactly what he said (wrote) and meant.

You guys are acting like a bunch of total jerks. No cultural sensitivity at all. High gas prices in Europe makes them virtually from another planet, or maybe it makes us like we are on a different planet.

The guy nicely asked for advise from his American Contour/Mondeo brethern, and he gets no respect.

I apologize for you since you don't seem to realize the need to.
