What is the general concensus on where to get parts? I keep hearing good and bad about Autozone, but I really haven't had bad luck there. They are competitivly priced and with the rewards card you basically get $20 free with every $100 spent. If I had an unlimited bank account, I'd probably get OEM parts from Ford! Thoughts?

I get all of my ford parts from Steve at Tousley Ford. I think it is 10% over cost. I just say i am from the contour forums. tousley ford is a little cheaper. Just do NOT go to your local dealer and pay retail unless you have to have the part now.

(Mention SVT plan for LARGE discount.(from 30-60%!) Don't need an SVT to use this plan.)

Edit: Since you are in IL shipping from Tousley is super fast. it takes like 2 days for me to get mine.

Just FYI I have found now that the prices for Tousley Ford online are the exact prices you get when you call and place the order using any reference to CEG, SVT Performance, etc. So there is no real benefit to calling unless you do not know what you need.

I second the mention of rockauto.com. I started using them for just about all my non dealer parts purchases after learning about them on CEG and have been very happy with the prices and quality of items purchased. They had the rare 95 speedo cable for my SE in stock when the dealer told me no longer availible.

I agree, no need to call and say "SVT" or what ever. i just like talking to steve.

My only beef with rockauto.com is everything seems to ship from different warehouses, everytime I purchase multiple items none of them ship from the same warehouse and you have to pay seperate shipping for each package.

i usually shop around for the highest quality part. i just look at how soon i need the part and factor in the price for shipping or how much it's going to cost to run and get it (because i live 45 miles from the nearest AZ, advance, or o'riellys. all i have is napa.) however i use pretty much whoever is the cheapest. the one thing about rockauto is the fast that they have numerous motorcraft parts that are priced pretty well, plus most of us that use rockauto post up the discount codes that are sent to us.

I dont think they stock anything. everything ships straight from the wholesaler. that is how they have parts for amazing prices. (no warehouses cutting into cost)

F**K AUTOZONE! I won't buy a damn light bulb there!

I prefer rockauto to just about everything. I find all sorts of strange parts there for everything I drive. My F250, Mustang, Contour, even my '61 Thunderbird!

The only gripe I have is the same as "imnotacop420". When you order something, god only knows where it'll ship from. If I don't absolutely have to have the part in my hands immediately, I order it from them, otherwise, I head for O-Reilly.
