Here's what I've been working on since getting my SVT back.

I took the eyelids off when the car went to get its 3.0 install, so I put them back on. I also pulled off the oval and got it painted to match, I think it looks nice. I'm hoping to get a CF/chrome SVT domed overlay from parkedcar to finish it off. Maybe some mesh later.

The TB was way easier to do with a drill to unscrew the TPS and throttle plate screws. Now all I need to do is fab a bracket to make it work on my 3.0 since the mechanic didn't give me my 2.5 bracket back.

What do you think?

awsome dude! what did you do to paint the grille, ive heard a few different methods but what did you do? i think thats coming up on my list of small things.

I roughed up the chrome with some 120 grit, then laid down a couple coats of adhesion promoter, a few coats of primer wetsanding with 400 grit in between, then something like 4 coats of Duplicolor silver frost from a rattle can, wetsanding with 1500 grit in between. I finished it off with three coats of clear, one light and two heavy.

I also noticed that in the picture with the throttle body open, there's so little in the way that the camera decided to focus on the carpet below...now that's optimized!

dude that looks sweet but i have to ask did you tape off the mesh or did you somehow pull off the chrome ring? im trying to figure out how to get the ring off without destroying the thing

There's a how-to about this one. It tells you how to install Stazi Mesh. It'll show you the secrets!

I followed the instructions on how to install grill mesh (on the old forums) and separated the plastic mesh and the chrome oval by taking it out and drilling apart the two pieces. To put it back together, I drilled pilot holes in the chrome ring stems (you'll see what I'm talking about) and then reattached the two pieces with some 3/4" wood screws and washers.

sweet i figured it had to be drilled just didnt want to drill too much. got that link to the old forum and it was pretty much what i had in mind. i just like to have something that i can either destroy or have pictures of what it will look like before i dig into things

thanks guys

It is just machined back on a lathe from the throttle plate until the very edge of the inlet is the thickness of a knife blade. I don't think this shot is any better.
