there has been discussions about this before. i have a set of poly inserts for the front roll resistor coming in the mail.....should this help with my wheel hop or should i get a poly kit and do the rear? i want to eliminate wheel hop as well as possible without making my car vibrate apart. i want it to drive nice still so keep this in mind. thanks for your opinions. ;)

You are sure asking for subjective input.

The insert only in front will not get rid of wheel hop. I know as I tried that. And an insert in front with a Pole120 mount in back will not quite get rid of all hop either, although it may get you pretty close. Solid poly mounts front and back as I have now do a great job of cutting the hop. While my NVH are waaaay up, I can still stand it, but then I'm too old to hear much anyway.

Not true PDX, it CAN get rid of wheelhop if all your other suspension components and motor mounts are in good shape.

Also, I loaded in my inserts into the front and retightened everything. Then I loosened the bolt on the rear mount to let the motor slip down a little in back in order to get a bit of a preload on it.
As soon as I did that no wheelhop when I would launch hard enough to get wheelspin.....and no penalties of a solid rear mount either! No bolts vibrating out of the dash...

If I can find a new stock rear mount, I will sell you the poly one I have from Pole.

Im going to be selling it soon and I dont need to put up with the NVH anymore. Its not terrible, but I would like it to be smooth again.

They sell the mount. Also check with Bill J.

Both can get it to you fast. Also, you can fill in the holes of the new stock mount with poly to increase its stiffness a little bit more without the full fledged NVH.

Not only that, a solid rear mount and solid front mount is just ASKING for a sheared axle. Something must be there to absorb a little of the driveline shock for hard launches. You just want to minimize the rotation of the stock powertrain when you launch hard.

So take all of these comments with a grain of salt. I had a NEW front mount AND NEW insert installed at the the same time as a NEW stock rear mount, had them preloaded down at time of reinstall of the tranny. I got wheel hop. The buds with whom I was at Woodburn drags who saw/heard it were having the same dream as me, I guess.

Good luck.

PS I'm not that concerned about half axles with just an NA 2.5L.

Maybe the other portions of your suspension were not up to par. Your other mounts should be good, you struts as well.
Also tires, springs affect this and so does having a track full of VHT on stock tires.
To be fair, I had the BAT springs and struts as well as a car that was low-miles and only a couple of years old. The tires were stock BFGs at that time and then later the Falken Ziex 512.
I'm not saying it didn't happen to you and feel free to share you experience. However your experience does not mean EVERYONE needs a solid poly rear mount especially when others have other experiences. So pleas don't say take it with a grain of salt. Maybe say take it for what its worth.
