hi, i have a 98 svt with a 99 duratec swapped in and it has been having a problem leaking oil around the fill cap and other spots i have put in valve covers gaskets. it seems to be running to high of an oil pressure so i installed a gauge when warming up it sits just above 75-100psi and warmed up its at most 50psi. it also leaks the worst when coming to an idle and idling on the front of the engine. so if anyone has any ideas on why i'm running high psi when warming up and where its leaking from

where did you tap to read the oil pressure?

75-100 psi on cold start up is a normal pressure at the head.

now if you tapped by the oil filter on the main oil galley, iit should be ~20 psi at idle and ~65 psi above 3k rpm when hot. it will see ~75 or more psi when cold.

then those oil pressure are way to high at the head.

typically is ~12 psi at idle and ~30 psi at 3 krpm when warmed up. maybe the pressure releif valve in the oil pump isn't opening as it should, but I'm not really sure what could be going on.
